i3D.net continues to grow

In the past six months i3D.net has continued to rapidly expand. Our installed server base, outbound traffic, revenue and datacenter footprint doubled in just six months.

In October 2009 i3D.net moved to inhouse datacenter Smart DC, located in Rotterdam Van Nelle. In the months before the move we have have invested heavily into the new facility and our server capacity. In the past months we have expanded our Frankfurt and Tokyo operations.

The facts: growth since November 1st, 2009:

  • Bandwidth capacity grew from ~12 gigabit to 53 gigabit
  • Outbound traffic doubled
  • Installed server base doubled along with massive upgrades of memory and CPU for older hardware
  • A lot of additional network hardware (from rack switch to router blades) was added to support this growth and our core network is now based on 10 gigabit ports
  • Revenue tripled
  • Our technical and support teams grew with three skilled engineers
  • A second office was opened for in-house support at our datacenter facility in Rotterdam
  • Internal procedures have been improved in preparation for SAS70 certification
  • Traffic flows in our Tier 2 facilities has tripled

We have great ideas to continue this success in the years to come.
